XOPENEX HFA (pronounced zō-pen-eks) is a quick-relief (or a rescue bronchodilator) treatment option. This type of medicine is used during an asthma attack for quick-relief symptom relief. It is taken when needed to relax the tightened muscles around the airway passages and relieve symptoms like wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. Quick-relief medications may act within minutes to rapidly ease bronchospasm symptoms. Based on clinical studies, typical response time was 4.5 minutes for pediatric patients (>4 years of age) and 5.5 to 10.2 minutes in adults (>18 years of age).
If you or your child has asthma, speak with your doctor about whether XOPENEX HFA could be right for you and help provide relief during your journey with asthma.
